2009 Championship Overview

The 2009 Georgia State Water Ski Championships will be a three event tournament displaying the exciting water skiing skills the public is most familiar with. Skiers will compete in slalom, which requires the skier to negotiate a series of buoys with split second reaction, while increasing the boats speed or shorting the skiers rope; tricks, which requires the skier to perform surface and air acrobatics trying to score the most points for their efforts; jumping which pushes the skier to accelerate up to speeds over 60 mph towards a fixed ramp and fly through the air as far as possible and land safely. The Championships will be held on the man -made Ski Lake in the community Southern Waters.

Want to ski in the State Championships, check out the entry information section of events page. Past and future champions will all be present. Take the family and spend the day; free admission, food on site and plenty of action for everyone, provides a great reason for middle Georgians to come out and cheer on who will be the best in the state.

The Tournament site is located off of Highway 74 (Thomaston Road) in Monroe County
