The 2010 Georgia State Water Ski Championship is proud to announce the return of some great features and sponsors.

Championship Update

We are moving smoothly through the logistics of putting the Championship together. The highlights are; Officials are confirmed, we are listed with the local media websites as a preferred event. Southern Waters will also be the sight of two Junior Development slated for April 24th and 25th and May 29th - 31st. This is open to all junior members of the Georgia Water Ski Federation. 2010 and the Championship is Coming

After great success with the 2009 Georgia State Water Ski Championship, Southern Waters will be the host sight of the 2010 Championship. The Ski Club is gearing up for another great event in 2010. Were working behind the scene's on sanctioning and logistics, so look for details in January.

First we will kick off media coverage with the annual New Year's Day Ski. Come see the die hards get their first time on the water in 2010. Need details call 478-993-6550. We would love a crowd so just come out, we should ski around 1:00

  3. Friday 10th, 12:30 - Junior Development Clinic resumes
  4. Friday 10th, 14:30 - Paid practice begins
  5. Friday 10th, 19:00 - 20:00 - Officials Reception
  6. Saturday 11th, 8:00, - Slalom B1-3, G1-3, all adults / Tricks B1-3, G1-3, all adults / Jump B2-3, G2-3
  7. Saturday 11th, 18:30 - Banquet / Awards / Trophies / Entertainment / Auction
  8. Sunday 12th, 8:00, - Round (2) Slalom same order as Saturday / Jump, all adults

The Championship Road

Where excited about all the great things happening for the Championship. Were please to announce Overton's the world's largest water sports dealer has come on board as a sponsor.
Our media Day will be this Saturday the 27th at the Championship site, we welcome our sponsors and media representatives that are coming out.
Our entry deadline is coming up July 4th, avoid the late fee and enter now. Also the early reservation discount for the host hotel is expiring, book now for a great rate at the Best Western.
The site courses have been updated and beautification around the site continues. The chefs from Junior Development will be cooking up a storm and including the world famous banana pudding cups to the menu at the Championship. There will be trivia prize giveaways with the announcers, the ability to customize your championship tee shirt with Eagle Sportz on site, a chance to capture your State Championship memory with photographer Dan Rodenroth.
Michele Roberson will bring her Personal Best Bell, and we would like to ring it off the hook. Where looking for competitors and spectators to bring their biggest cheers for everyone on the water. So make plans to get here early, grab a bite right on site, have some fun under the sun.

New Sponsors, New Contest Approved

We are pleased to announce the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce and the Tourism Board for Monroe County are supporting the Championship. From Home page inclusion on their website to helping launch our advertising campaign, their help is appreciated in spreading the word on our great event.

We have received approval from our chief judge and have a sponsor for the Short Board Big Air Contest, to be a part of the State Championship. This will be a chance outside of regular scoring for competitors to have some fun, show off their biggest moves and win prizes. Complete details will be posted soon. Many thanks to our sponsor River Crossings Mall.

The first signs on Highway 74 are up announcing the Championship. We have also received our first competitor entry as well. We look forward to seeing you July 10th - 12th!
